The Fartz (pronounced "the farts") was one of the first well known Hardcore bands from Seattle, Washington. Their 1981 7" "Because This World Fuckin' Stinks" was originally released with a pressing of 500, on Fartz Records. In 1982 they released a LP entitled "World Full of Hate" on Jello Biafra's Alternative Tentacles Records. Vocalist Blaine Cook later went on to sing for the hardcore/thrash band The Accüsed. Their original drummer, Loud Fart left the band to return to his preferred instrument, the guitar.Their second drummer Duff McKagan later gained notoriety as a member of the hard rock band Guns N' .
